HOW TO: Spend Valentine’s Day as a Single Lady or Mom

·

·      Get chocolate. Who says you need someone to buy it for you? Get a box of chocolate and enjoy it. Chocolate releases endorphins in the brain to make you feel good! So a little chocolate will actually improve your mood and make you feel better.

·      Spend time with those you love. Instead, spend time with different kind of love - your friends and your family. See a movie with some friends, eat dinner at the local diner with a handful of family, whatever you do, love is love, and Valentine's Day is there to represent it. You don't need to be in a romantic relationship to enjoy V-day.

·      If you just got out of a bad relationship, a great idea of what to do for yourself is, make it a "Pamper Day" or an "All About You Day". Go spend some money on yourself. It's good to be a little selfish now and then. And when you see those red heart decorations or you hear a love song, think of yourself, and how much you love yourself.

·      Use Valentine's Day as an actively seek a partner day, so many places put on singles evenings so get your girlfriends or male friends together and head for a singles party. Who knows who you might meet?

·      Whether it’s George Clooney or Johnny Depp, spend the night with your ultimate celeb crush. Rent a handful of his movies and treat yourself to an eye.

·      Organize a Secret Admirers gifting sesh, à la Secret Santa: You and a group of friends draw names and then deliver items like chocolates, flowers, and teddy bears to each other. That way everyone can have a Valentine...

·       Ask a guy friend out for a platonic date and split a meal at a tasty restaurant. Make a game out of your dinner discussion by looking around the restaurant at all the couples (there will be a ton!) and guessing which ones will actually last, based on their body language.

·      Go see a live show … Even if you live in a small town, there's always a local band playing somewhere! If you don't want to see theatre, why not check out a comedy, variety or performance? Lots of big cities have special events on Valentine's Day for the brokenhearted.

·      Have a Fondue Party… The best part about Valentine's Day isn't the lovey-dovey stuff - it's the chocolate. And there's no funner way to eat chocolate than fondue. You just melt some down and dip whatever you want into it! Here's an easy recipe for peanut butter chocolate fondue. Cook it up, prepare some stuff to dip and enjoy it with a couple of friends.

·      Valentine's Day is all about love, and nothing spreads the love faster than a little volunteer work. Find a place to volunteer or just spend some time with an elderly relative. After all, if you can't find a date, you'd might as well make all of your romantically-inclined friends feel shallow. (Just kidding.)

·      Cross something big off your bucket list (or start one!) Let your adventurous side run free and choose a new experience to try for the first time. Something with an adrenaline rush would make for a fun experience; things like bungee jumping or skydiving are good options for a one-day activity.

Falling in Love is Good for the Adventurous

Over the weekend while watching a re-run of one of my favourite series, one of the acts in the movie mentioned how she was suddenly falling in love with a guy she just met.

How they seem perfect together – how he makes her favorite meals, says the right things, they barely fought amongst other things… to her it was not good. It meant she was falling in love, which was bad of course.

She called a friend over and shared the ‘problem’ with her; for minutes the friend wondered how having a guy that ‘gets’ you is a problem? She explained to the friend it meant she had something to lose….she says, “It’s like falling off a cliff, which is very bad and painful”.

While the friend encouraged her through her worries I thought falling off a cliff was adventurous and daring.

Which made me conclude adventurous people should enjoy falling in love… but most times they’re the least in love.

Why is that?

Love, LANVIN

Let's
Come on Let's,
Let's go to Lanvin..

Let's wear beautiful, body-fitting, soft-tone, wrap clothes..
Let's make lovely skirts we can wrap around the waist from fabrics..
Let's wear pastel bodice with luxury hand gloves...
Let's wear top s made with multiple ruffles of fine fabrics...
Let's wear sweet, romantic makeup that'll compel attention...
Let's get appropriate shoes - heels and brogues that compliment every look...
How about fur jackets, coats that speak volumes?
Or romantic lace that accentuate the body?
No, fine linen will do - soft and smooth is good for the body...
Let's take a trip back to the days when we wore well-pleated, A-line skirts ...
And fine corset that cop the breasts appropriately..
Let's sit back to see which one's...

No,let's not.
Let's have them all
Let's wear them all
Let's own,
Let's, LANVIN

A Phone Conversation

Yesterday, a colleague of mine raised an issue which I found quite interesting. She said and I quote, "I don't think any lady in this age should by her own phone - what ever type it is, BlackBerry, iPhone, Android, etc She should get any phone she desires as a gift...yes she should".

Hearing this I was 1. Stunned (haven't figured out why exactly) 2. Bothered - I wanted to know why she thought and said, it definitely couldn't have been a random idea that just clicked somewhere in her head. She sounded convinced of it, because when I asked why she believed so she steered back at me in amazement like I was from a totally different specie of the woman-hood. She looked surprised as to why I ask that and more awed when I told her I bought the phone (iPhone) I'm using at the moment for myself because it is essential for my career.... My point I explained to her; I needed the phone, I ordered for it, got it and there, it's mine. So why do I need a man(her opinion of the giver) to buy me a phone.

Well, her rule is that a woman should have enough men (boyfriends, lovers,) in her life , enough to get her different 'toys' anytime she wants one but yes, she has to ask them all to have lots of options..just so many offers come by.

My points are:
  • I get it, we all love gifts but how's it a gift when you have to ask different guys and most likely stalk them even though some might request something in between or after?
  • Where then is the boundary between decency, prostitution and hawking? Because frankly 70% of these men request something in return even before they give that which requested.
  • Also, do women (these days) believe they need to be bought everything?
  •  Is getting all they (women) need a reason to get married these days...especially when they end up divorced after a very short time together?

These are just few of my questions...*still wondering*
