Lanvin Lust - Of Gold, Straps & Cuffs

For spring-summer 2013, Lanvin presents The Stiletto heel, the Oracle jewels and the Lanvin Partition bag. The French brand bridges the gap with modernism and classicism; creating Oracle jewelry made with two-tone gold and silver breastplates which are both smooth and hand-beaten, covering the nape and shoulders. The Partition bag is medium-sized; made of calf and highlighted with a serpent chain. Shoes for spring are stiletto heels made with a mix of metalwork and craftsmanship.

One to Watch - TAP Designs Fashion Label

I love discovering new brands, creative types especially. Lately, I found out about this lovely fashion brand called TAPdesigns and I'd love to say this is a brilliant label.

TAPdesigns is a contemporary ready to wear brand founded by Adeosun Toluwalase, Thorpe Weyinmi and Patrick Ifie. Based in Lagos, it's obvious how the Nigeria and African heritage is evident in each one of their collections. Tap designs pieces are made in Nigeria and they are very serious about making an impact in the Nigerian fashion industry. Looking through the latest collection - Belle Dame which means "beautiful woman" in French, I discovered that while there's still a lot of room for improvement they do have that sheer understanding of their aesthetics...

Looking Back, Going Forward: Jewel by Lisa S/S '13

It's like a forgotten crush - if there's anything like that - but sure it's stronger than mere thoughts.

Somehow, it feels I missed out on a part of my life; it happened during the MTN LFDW 2012 

precisely the day Jewel by Lisa showcased. I must have been teleported to 

another world or sort because sincerely I didn't understand how I could've

missed out an essential detail of an entire week, an essential detail as the magnificent 

collection and show of fashion label Jewel by Lisa.

The Spring/Summer collection is beyond remarkable; it encapsulates 

African beauty to perfection.

Basically, what you desire to see, you get. Remember my mention here about the return of the holographic effect? Yes, it’s back and Proenza Schouler represents it beautifully. The Proenza Schouler guys – Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough decided it’s all about illusion this season.

Shot by amazingly talented 17 year old Temi Adebayo, the Collection is built on the life of a quirky artistic young African traveler who makes every holiday experience a style invasion. 

He takes us through his holiday with clothes that portray a sense of his background without being too much of a cliché. His African history mixed with his well travelled background inspire the quirky looks that take him from a fun hot summer’s day in palm springs to a cold fashionable summer night on a yacht heading to another one of his many invasions.
