MODE MEN Magazine 5th Anniversary Issue Features Jimmy Jean Louis

The 5th anniversary issue of Mode men magazine features Jimmy Jean Louis, remember him? Okay I'll remind you.

Jimmy Jean Louis is the guy who played Fela Anikulapo in the just concluded Fela! On Broadway musical.

This edition celebrates the magazine's 5th anniversary, other excerpts include the Arise Fashion Week, Elections and profiles of some personalities.

According to Mode Men Publisher, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, the issue will be out next week.

Runway to Magazine Editorial

The recently held Arise Fashion Week unveiled alot of things in the fashion/beauty industry. From the long list of fashion designers to beauticians, socialites and ofcourse fashion waanabes. Of all designs exhibited during the show, House of Nwocha really impressed the audience with her authentic collection that raised lots of applause. One of her designs is this lovely lace dress which I adore and hope to own soon.

Skip forward few weeks after the AMFW....

The April edition of WOW magazine unveiled it's new cover which featured Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh. It indeed is a beautiful cover.
Excerpts inside the magazine also featured the actress in various outfits one of which is the same beautiful all lace green dress shown at the Arise Magazine Fashion Week by popular Nigerian designer House of Nwocha.

Now, that's a plus!

Meet Textile/Jewellery Designer Anita Quansah

I met a unique jewellery maker during the Arise Fashion Week last week, she's indeed a creative person. I took the priviledge to chat with her and you know, get acquainted. She sounded sweet and nice, since i found out her website is not up yet I thought it right to take pictures of samples of her neck pieces displayed in the VIP section of the event.

Anita Quansah is a London based textile designer that reworks recycled cloths into beautifully intricate fabrics which are used in haute couture collections, as well as her own clothing designs. She also utilizes this same sense of sustainable creativity when designing necklaces, incorporating found beads, chains and fabrics in innovative ways.Quite spectacular designs, I am very impressed.

Some pictures here I sourced from the internet, please check her designs and let me know what you think.

Check Anita Quansah's website at www.anitaquansahlondon.com

OKUNOREN TWINS Menswear Collection At The Arise Fashion Week

My New Obsession - Glasses, Glasses, Glasses At The Arise Fashion Week

Okay, I'll admit it again like I mentioned in an earlier post..I'm loving sunglasses at the moment. And taking from the hot sun that lasted all through the Arise Fashion Week, i guess no one should be accused of having one but definitely not a ugly one.

These are my favourite ones; best rocked for me are by Vixen, Gbenga Ashiru, Uti, Hauwa Mukan, Yinka Epega and Makida.

What do you think?

Bags I Loved At The ARISE Fashion Week

Every lady loves her hanfbag as much her clothes, and according to legendary fashion icon Coco Chanel,"A lady's should be two things classy and fabulous and in other to be irreplaceable or perhaps stand out you have to look different. For me there's just one thing that defines true measure of class and sophistication to me - your handbag.

Your handbag is who and what you are, so what do you carry?

From the just completed ARISE Magazine fashion week where one and all seemed present and fashion questions tool tolls I found handbags that definitely take the A for me, in my opinion these ladies and the gentleman know their style.
