Top 10: Signs of a well-dressed man

10. Nice Shoes

Dingy, dirty shoes can sure make even the finest suit look, well, not so fine. Plain and simple, a freshly shined pair can spruce up even the most mediocre digs. Polish shoes in regular rotation about once a week, because they’re quite literally a reflection of you.

9. The Hair – Cut and Coifed

Overgrown, messy hair doesn’t just appeal to anyone. When a guy waits too long between cuts or worse, plastering and trimming the moustache, he simply moves from the dapper to douchebag. A guy needs to see a stylist or barber say every three to four weeks, this two rules are those coif-conscious men follow religiously.

8. Tailormade

No matter what your closet contains-luxe labels, fine fabrics, the newest trends – it doesn’t mean much without a flawless fit. And that piece of advice isn’t reserved for a custom collection of suits and sport coats. The same holds of true for everything from off-the-rack trousers to T-shirts. And there is only way to know if the cut is right; always try before you buy

7. Colour Coordinated

Somewhere along the line – say, after elementary school – you should have developed an eye for harmonizing hues. If you were left back a few grades in the dressing department, though, remember that colours should complement but never be matchy-matchy. In fact, feel free to experiment by contrasting colours in the most unexpected places – like a pair of pink socks with even the subtlest of suits.

6. Understated Elegance

It shouldn’t take a rainbow or let’s say lots of efforts to get you noticed. Then again, fading into background isn’t the answer either. The compromise? Wear one piece that says something (it can be anything from a blazer to a bracelet) and let the rest play a supporting role. In the end, your attire and accessories should make a statement, not put on a show.

5. Vintage Finds

Few men are fortunate enough to have a heap of valuable hand-me-downs; that’s where second-hand shopping comes in. This is high-end haberdashery at its best: think vintage watches and old school designer duds. They’re not always easy to find, but once you do come across them, you’ll never want to let go.

4. Signature Scent

Having an army of aromas isn’t just a waste of money, it’s downright olefactorily offensive. Men need, at most, just two fragnances. One should be lighter for daytime and warmer weather; the other more robust for nights and scent-crushing colder temps. With proper application (a spiritz behind the ears and on the wrists) both will become a part of you – not prematurely announce your arrival.

3. Pocket Protection

Somewhere along the line, men forgot about the little things in life – like the all-important pocket square. Use it with a tux or dress up a denim-sportcoat combo. They key, as you’ve already learned, is to mix rather than match. Employ the flat fold (look it up), and you’ll soon realize that the hanky is a minor detail with major impact

2. See Clearly

We’re not all blessed with natural 20/20. So, if you’re holding off on going under the knife and your stash of contacts isn’t cutting it, good-old eyeglasses are your option. And when it comes to specs, go bold or go home. Sure, they should always fit your face and it may take 30-plus pairs to find ones that do, but make certain they speak with the sureness of geek chic plastic or some angular metal

1. Confidence

Confidence- one word says it all. Without a little swagger in your step, nothing else matters.

19 Year-Old Hangs Himself

I heard this news over the weekend, it’s kind of tragic, and so I decided to share it. I got the details online from The Punch Newspapers. Here it goes as written by Femi Makinde for Sun Newspapers.
Tragedy struck in Basiri area of Ado Ekiti State capital on Saturday when a 19-year-old man Aderemi Ademosu, hanged himself inside a church auditorium. Ademosu was said to have been found inside the church auditorium by women who had gone to clean the place ahead of the Sunday service. Residents gave the name of the church as Alajahora. Journalists sighted the corpse still dangling from a ceiling hook on Sunday while the windows and doors of the church were shut.
The teenager’s corpse was dressed in T-shirt and pair of black jean trousers as at the time he decided to end his life. The teenager, who was wearing socks before he took his life, had removed his black shoes and put them beside a chair. Our correspondent gathered that Ademosu had two elder brothers in School Certificate Examination. Ademosu was said to have visited one of his siblings residing at Basiri area on Friday and committed suicide the next day. He did not, however, leave a suicide note. The spokesman of the state police command, Mr Mohammed Jimoh, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, saying the body had been removed from the church.
He said the police did not suspect foul play in the incident, adding that an investigation was ongoing to determine why Ademosu took his life. “The police are aware of the suicide case. The body has been removed from the church. We invited pathologists who carried out an autopsy on the corpse. They said that violence did not take place before the boy died. No foul play at all.” he said

Joke of the Day
A man walked into a lawyer’s office and asked about the lawyer’s rates.
“$50 for three questions,”replied the lawyer.
Ïsn’t that awfully steep?”asked the lawyer.
“Yes,”the lawyer replied: “and what was your third question?”
