Charming the Charmer: Eku Edewor in Iconic Invanity SS14

Eku Edewor seems to be charming Chiwetel Ejiofor in this lovely Iconic Invanity piece; the yellow adds so much glow to her skin.

Eku interviewed Chiwetel Ejiofor at a Press Junket held for the Lagos premiere of Half of a Yellow Sun.

RUNWAY REPORT : LFDW 2013 - "Elements" of Nature at Iconic Invanity

I felt two things - peace and pain, watching Iconic Invanity's S/S collection - "Elements" walk down the runway at the Lagos Fashion and Design Week. It's not of evil or hate but watching the models work in those amazing pieces gave me a fashion-orgasm or maybe a paradisic revelation.

Elements as the designer - Nancy Nwadire defined it possesses everything earthy - fire, water, sun, air, etc in summary I'd say everything natural, everything peaceful....now, that's how the entire 10minutes felt - entirely peaceful.

The believe is that Nigerians love glitz and glitters; they shiny pieces, studded designs and sometimes bedazzled all the way clothes. One would have assumed, Iconic Invanity aims to satisfy all that feeling in Nigerias but not exactly, she gives a hint of that plus more that's hidden to me.

Style Alert: Nichole Galicia x Iconic Invanity at "Life is Amazing" Screening

The truth is, I stay with positivity and positivity they say comes with true knowledge and creativity. True creativity they say goes places beyond the common dreams of the ordinary person, true creativity travels wide and broad. Not to ramble too far I'd like to say that fashion label Iconic Invanity established by Nancy Nwadire is one of the few that stands out when it comes to creativity  and artistic value. I love when a brand has its own signature, that stamp of significance which tells you any day, anytime, anywhere of its relevance...that is simply what Iconic Invanity represents.

True to its nature the Iconic Invanity trade mark is obvious in its design, the aesthetics being revealed in its construction and most importantly the perfect definition of the female body.

"Luxury Sweet Candy" - ICONIC INVANITY MTN LFDW 2012 Collection

To fully appreciate the skills and effort involved in making a garment and an entire collection, you would have to see it up close and personal preferably before the fashion week starts or backstage minutes before the designers’ show, simply because it’s the visual impact that really matters.

Few weeks, days before the LFDW started I visited few designers at their atelier and merging the experience gathered pre and during the show really gave me a totally different and definite understanding into the individual collections. Iconic Invanity’s “Luxury Sweet Candy” collection was one of few I previewed before the event proper. The interesting thing about such visits is that it helps sort out initial impressions, it then gives a clear view of the collection based on the designer’s aesthetics. For example, I discovered that the title of the collection couldn’t have been better to describe such an amazing collection of colourful and deliciously designed pieces.

The sincere attention to details often revealed by the intricate beading style places Iconic Invanity on another platform from her peers. From tops, skirts, dresses and immaculate gowns, every piece from this collection have more structure and beauty than can be realized on the runway.

ICONIC IMPACT: Runway to Cover, Nike Oshinowo in Iconic Invanity for StyleMania August Edition.

As revealed few hours ago, the current edition of fashion and style magazine, StyleMania features Ex-Beauty queen, Nike Oshinowo-Soleye on the cover wearing a design by one of Nigeria’s fashion designer.
On the August edition which is the Body Issue (See here - http://debuzzviews.blogspot.com/2012/08/nike-oshinowo-for-stylemania-body-issue.html), Nike spots a dazzling outfit by remarkable designer Nancy Nwadire of Iconic Invanity. The whole outfit comprises of a beaded jacket and shorts that look adorable on the body of the beautifully ageing Nike Oshinowo.  An exact sample of the design Nike wears on StyleMania cover was unveiled at the Arise Magazine Fashion Week earlier in March this year, while the runway sample bears different shades of colours and materials the other is of blue origin, patterns with more details both in cuts and accessory – a closer look and feel confirms this.

While I cannot quite place which I prefer of the two designs, one thing’s definite, Iconic Invanity makes iconic pieces that will stun anyone that appreciates good craft and design.
