The Guaranty Trust Bank Lagos Fashion and Design Week is a a multi day premiere fashion event platform that aims to drive the Nigerian fashion industry and lift its profile by bringing together buyers, consumers and the media to view the current collections of designers in the fashion capital of Lagos, Nigeria.
The Guaranty Trust Bank Lagos Fashion and Design Week, in partnership with the British Council, has opened applications from filmmakers interested in exploring fashion as a theme. The fashion film workshop will take participants through the central aspects of the fashion filmmaking process. It will be facilitated by Grace Ladoja and will begin on September 9th, 2013.

Guaranty Trust Bank Lagos Fashion & Design Week, which is scheduled to take place between Wednesday 23rd October and Saturday 26th October 2013, has recognized the need to nurture and grow talents in the fashion industry and provide them with the right tools to simultaneously grow the Nigerian fashion industry and their businesses.
The workshop agenda includes: an illustrated introduction to film language using examples of fashion film and Introduction to planning, shooting and editing a fashion film. Participants then plan, film and edit a simple sequence.
Experienced filmmakers, especially those interested in producing short films and experimenting in the fashion genre are encouraged to apply. The workshop is open to filmmakers and their teams which can include an editor, director of photography / lighting technician and art director. Each selected film making team will work with a design team comprising of a fashion designer, stylist, hair /makeup stylist etc.
here will also be master classes on fashion as a business in addition to the workshops for the 20 shortlisted fashion designers from the Young Designer of the Year category scheduled from September 16th 23rd, 2013.
The Master classes will be led by Jake Leith (Head of Fashion & Business Development, Brighton University, UK) and Julianna Sissons (Lecturer, Fashion & Textile design, Brighton University, UK).
